Learn More →The Gwinnett Animal Advocacy Alliance (GAAA) is a coalition of residents, volunteers, fosters, adopters, and concerned citizens committed to improving animal welfare in Gwinnett County.
Founded in 2024, GAAA was formed in response to growing concerns about the conditions, policies, and leadership decisions affecting animals within the Gwinnett County shelter system. We believe every animal deserves humane treatment, compassionate care, transparency, and the opportunity to leave the shelter alive whenever possible.
Our mission is to advocate for meaningful change through public awareness, community engagement, accountability, and responsible policy reform. We monitor shelter operations, raise concerns when problems arise, support lifesaving efforts, and encourage county leaders to prioritize the welfare of the animals entrusted to their care.
While we may not always agree with shelter leadership, our focus remains the same: ensuring that the voices of the animals are heard and that decisions are made in their best interest.
Because they cannot speak for themselves, we will.
